Replaced about 1/2 tsp of the kosher salt w/ smoked salt. Used red pepper powder (b/c I didn't have it) but go easy b/c it can get too spicy, then added Chipotle Chile flakes. (and I still thought it was a tad oily, so 1 cup Took a few suggestions like halving the olive oil Olive oil and cut the salt back since I knew my clams Lucky for my family our guests didn't like clams or they were afraid they would lose a limb tying to get near them while we were eating! This will be my go to for clams from now on. I used less oil and way more garlic - I actually thought it said 12 cloves sliced! I also added speck with the garlic and it was delicious! The bread was outstanding and dipping it is heaven. Yes the oil and salt are really extreme! Someone didn't test or read this recipe b4 publishing
